The MSE Tad Expander is an advanced orthodontic appliance that represents a variation of the Microimplant Assisted Rapid Palatal Expander (MARPE), developed by Dr. Won Moon. For added stability and effectiveness, the MSE employs four titanium alloy Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) that are either 11mm or 13mm in length, providing robust anchorage during the expansion process. A specialized wrench is included for easy activation of the expansion screws, facilitating gradual and controlled palatal widening. Early teens – 6X / week (0.80mm / week)
Late teens – 2X / day (0.27mm / day)
Early to Mid-20’s – 4~6X / day (0.53~0.80mm / day)
Older – Min.4~6X / day
After Diastema – 2X / day (0.27mm / day)

This appliance should be cleaned every day with toothpaste and a soft toothbrush, morning and night. Encourage the patient to give sufficient time to clean thoroughly around the device, gums, teeth, and bands to maintain proper hygiene and prevent inflammation. Three minutes is recommended.
