This Privacy Policy applies to Specialty Appliances LLC (“SA Group”) and its dental and orthodontic laboratory brands: Specialty Appliances, ODL Orthodontic Labs (Orthodent Laboratory Inc.), International Dental Arts (IDA), Express Dental Laboratory (EDL), and Parklund Labs (together, “SA Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It covers our websites, including specialtyappliances.com, odlortho.com, idasmiles.com, xdentallab.com, and parklundlabs.com (the “Websites”), and the sales, marketing, and customer service activities connected with them (together, the “Services”).
We are committed to protecting your personal information. If you have questions about this policy or our practices, contact the brand you work with using the contact information in Section 11. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Services.
We apply this policy at the brand level. If you wish to opt out of any communication, you will need to do so for each brand with which you have a relationship. Each brand has its own contact email, phone number, and mailing address for privacy requests, listed in Section 11.
Our laboratories manufacture dental and orthodontic appliances on behalf of licensed dental and orthodontic practices. Patient information we receive in connection with a case, such as information on a prescription, scan, impression, or model, is provided to us by the treating practice and is processed solely to fulfill that practice’s order, under our agreements with that practice and applicable law. That information is not collected through our Websites and is not governed by this Privacy Policy. Patients with questions about their information should contact their dental or orthodontic provider.
Information you provide to us. We collect the personal information you choose to give us when you complete a form on our Websites, contact us by phone, email, text message, or social media, register an account, attend an event, or otherwise communicate with us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, practice or company name, professional role, mailing address, and the contents of your messages to us.
Payment information. We do not collect or store payment card numbers through our Websites. If you make a payment to us, your payment details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processors and billing systems in accordance with their own security standards and terms.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our Websites, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and dates and times of visits. We use this information to operate, secure, analyze, and improve our Websites. Like most businesses, we collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).
Publicly available professional information. Because we serve dental and orthodontic professionals, we may supplement our records with publicly available business information about a practice, such as its name, address, phone number, or website.
We use personal information to:
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time (see Sections 3 and 6). Because we apply this policy at the brand level, an opt-out applies to the brand you contact.
SA Group offers text messaging (SMS) as an optional channel for business communications with the practices and professionals we serve. Depending on the brand and the consent you have given, text messages may be conversational and support-related, such as replies to support inquiries, case status and scheduling updates, shipping and delivery notifications, and follow-up on open service requests, or they may include recurring automated marketing and informational messages.
We send text messages only to individuals who have given prior express consent to receive them. Consent may be given in writing on a website form, an account registration form, or a case submission form; verbally during a telephone call with our team; or by sending a text message to one of our published business numbers. Where required, consent to receive automated marketing text messages is obtained separately and is evidenced by an affirmative action, such as checking a consent box that is not pre-selected. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase and is not required to receive any product, service, or support from us.
We collect the mobile telephone number you provide to us; your consent status, together with the date on which and the method by which consent was obtained; the content of messages exchanged with us and associated delivery metadata; and any request to stop receiving messages.
We use this information only to conduct and respond to communications with you; to send the categories of messages you have consented to receive; to maintain records of consent and opt-out as required by applicable law and by mobile carrier requirements; and to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the messaging service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories of disclosure described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, other than the telecommunications carriers, messaging platform providers, and message aggregators that transmit messages on our behalf, and except where disclosure is required by law or by court order. We do not sell mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or consent status.
You may stop receiving text messages from us at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. We will send a single confirmation message and will send no further messages to that number, other than in response to a message you send to us. You may also contact the brand you work with using the information in Section 11 to change your communication preferences.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using the information in Section 11. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We use cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels and web beacons, to operate our Websites, understand how they are used, and support our advertising.
Our analytics and advertising service providers may use cookies and pixels on our Websites to help us measure traffic, understand usage, and deliver and measure advertising for our own products and services on other platforms. These technologies may collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, and browsing activity on our Websites. As stated in Section 3, mobile telephone numbers, text messaging opt-in data, and consent status are never included in any disclosure to advertising platforms or other third parties for advertising, marketing, or promotional purposes.
Most web browsers accept cookies by default. You can usually set your browser to remove or reject cookies, although doing so may affect certain features of our Websites. To learn about opting out of interest-based advertising, visit aboutads.info/choices.
Some browsers offer a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) setting. No uniform DNT standard has been adopted, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals.
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months. We share personal information only:
Email. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting the relevant brand using the information in Section 11.
Text messages. Reply STOP to any message, or contact the relevant brand and we will remove your number.
Brand-level preferences. Because each of our laboratories maintains its own customer relationships and systems, communication preferences are recorded for the brand you contact. If you work with more than one SA Group brand and wish to opt out of communications from each, please contact each brand using the information in Section 11.
Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to exceptions provided by law. To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 11. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, will respond within the time required by applicable law, and will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. If you use an authorized agent, we may require proof of that agent’s authorization.
California and other state residents. Residents of California and certain other states have specific rights under their state privacy laws, including those described above and the right to know the categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for which we use it, as described in this policy. California’s “Shine the Light” law also permits California residents to request information regarding disclosures of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes; as stated in Section 5, we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, for example for tax, accounting, or other legal requirements. Records of text messaging consent and opt-out are retained as required by applicable law and mobile carrier requirements. When we no longer have a business need for personal information, we delete it, anonymize it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our Services are directed to dental and orthodontic professionals and their teams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from, or market to, children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last Modified” date above and will be effective when posted. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice, such as a statement on our Websites.
For questions, requests, or complaints about this policy or your personal information, contact the SA Group brand you work with. Because we apply this policy at the brand level, please direct your request to the brand that holds your relationship.
