Space Maintenance

The Halterman is an add-on component to aid the eruption of an impacted tooth. It is typically used with a lower lingual arch or an upper Nance appliance. The bar is laser welded to the lingual or buccal side of the band.

The fixed space maintainer (band and loop) is used to maintain the space created by unilateral/bilateral premature loss of primary teeth in either of the arches.  Premature loss of primary teeth may lead to mesial migration of teeth resulting in loss of the arch length.  This may manifest as malocclusion in permanent dentition in the form of crowding, impaction of permanent teeth or super eruption of opposing teeth.    Omega loops can be added upon request to allow for adjustments. 

The Tran-Palatal Arch Appliance is used to stabilize the position of the molars following treatment. It can also be used as an anchorage device with laser welded eyelets to bring down impacted incisors. The TPA can also be used in conjunction with TADS for the intrusion of the molars.

The Nance appliance can be used to slightly expand or rotate the upper molars or hold the molars in place, following the movement of teeth. The appliance is commonly used to prevent upper molars from drifting forward. The Nance appliance can also be used as a fixed upper retainer. We can also incorporate adjustment loops on the wire.

The Nance with recurve loops can be used to rotate molars into an ideal position to improve the bite and to help the molars move as a unit when working together with TADs. The design allows for easy adjustment to the wire for the desired movement.

The upper and lower Holding Arch Appliance is used to stabilize the position of the molars and anterior incisors (lower only) after phase I treatment. It can be used in conjunction with the Halterman attachment to aid in the eruption of compacted molars. For the lower spurs can also be welded to engage the distal of the laterals as well as adjustment loops. This appliance is manufactured from your 3D scan. The metal framework of this appliance is 3D printed for the most predictable and accurate fit. The simple two appointment process starts with a scan at appointment one and then delivery on the following date. No separators required.
