Patient Care Instructions:

  • Avoid Discoloration: Steer clear of strong aromatic foods and beverages like nicotine, coffee, tea, and coke to prevent discoloration, especially for splints with soft components.
  • Cleaning: Clean your splints daily with CETRON® line products or with toothpaste, a toothbrush, and clear water. Always rinse with clear water before and after wearing.
  • Storage: Ensure the splint is completely dry before storing. Avoid using hot water or methods exceeding 40°C for cleaning.
  • Safety Precautions: Refrain from using organic solvents like alcohol and acetone. Some herbal-based products can cause discoloration and should be avoided.

DURASOFT® pd is a high quality compound material fabricated by co-extrusion consisting of a hard PETG base material and a soft thermoplastic material (TPU). If used correctly, a separation of the two materials can be excluded. The material is characterised by a high abrasion and breaking resistance. The material has been tested and approved in terms of cell biology. As a lot of high quality thermoplastic resins, especially copolyester material, DURASOFT® pd behaves hygroscopiscally, i.e. it absorbs humidity which might lead to the formation of bubbles during the heating process, in case the material has not been pre-dried before. Therefore the material comes already pre-dried and vacuum sealed for instant use.
