Casper Appliances are functional devices that encourage natural jaw growth and development much like a Mara or a Herbst appliance with a lot less parts. These appliances emerged as part of a wave of functional orthodontics in the 1970s aimed at correcting Class II malocclusions by guiding jaw development.The Casper is a new iteration developed in the late 2010’s. They continue to be used in growing patients for non-invasive orthodontic treatments.
