Digital Deprogramming Splint

The anterior deprogrammer is a flat plane occlusal splint with an anterior acrylic block designed to disclude the posterior teeth. Since the body has a protective reflex to prevent added pressure to the anterior teeth when this splint is worn less pressure is exerted. This appliance is recommended from patients with heavy bruxism and TMJ pain. Digital splints do not have any wire clasping for retention, all retention is done with undercuts.

Treatment & Care

Patients should wear at night and clean daily with toothpaste to prevent the buildup of plaque and odor. Avoid Efferdent and other effervescent solutions, as it may erode components on the appliance. It is recommended to use products like DentaSoak or Retainer Splash.
